How To Win A DANI Award? Judge Reveals Top 5 Tips
With just weeks to go until the much-anticipated 2018 DANI Awards, we talk to one of the judges who reveals what he’ll be scoring on at this year’s DANI’s!
Paul Farrell, Vice President of Commercial at Virgin Media, is an experienced commercial marketer who has worked on the client side, media side and agency side. As an executive board member of Virgin Media, Paul brings to the DANI Awards judging panel his vast experience in strategic media planning, driving cultural change and a proven track record of hugely creative marketing campaigns.
“Innovation really is the buzz word of 2018, so it’s about bringing that innovation to the fore and doing something which has had a measurable and positive impact on business activity,” said Paul. “Marketing is not about creating eye-catching campaigns and ads, it’s about growing the brand and the business, as David Ogilvy said if it doesn’t sell, it isn’t creative.”
Paul added: “For instance, in the category of ‘Best App of the Year,’ we will be looking at evidence of whether this development has led to business growth and improvements within an industry sector. Also, for ‘Best Social Media Campaign,’ has your brand’s visibility and the bottom line been impacted positively by the campaign? And, for ‘Best SEO Campaign,’ how did you integrate technology, data, and insight to improve organic and paid search through innovative methods?”
“Alongside this, judges will be assessing business growth, ability to integrate the latest technology and measurable success. We will be scoring on uniqueness, difference and a desire to push the boundaries and deliver results. The award and shortlist for ‘Best Young Digital Person’ runs to the very heart of the DANI’s, which aims to excel or boost opportunities for striving digital savvy individuals. The whole purpose of the DANI Awards is to inspire and encourage the development of digital technology, and as a result, continue to place Northern Ireland on the map for being the hub of innovation.”
Celebrating its 8th year, The DANI Awards are regarded as the premiere platform for celebrating digital innovation throughout Northern Ireland. Every year, they attract hundreds of entries from businesses making a noticeable difference within their sector.
